Comfortable Extended Dog Boarding in Lakeland, FL
Longer boarding stays require more than a clean kennel and regular meals. Dogs also benefit from activity, companionship, personal attention, and a predictable routine while their families are away.
At Ruby’s Pet Resort, dogs have their own individual kennel where they can eat, rest, and sleep peacefully. During the day, eligible dogs can participate in supervised group play, giving them opportunities to exercise and interact instead of spending the entire stay separated from other dogs.
Our indoor playroom, known as The Livingroom, provides a more home-like setting with a sofa, dog toys, and space for staff to spend personal time with pets. Individual attention may vary according to the daily schedule and each dog’s needs, but the room gives guests another comfortable environment outside their regular sleeping area.
We also conduct a late-evening check and potty break, typically between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. This helps reduce the amount of time dogs spend waiting overnight before the morning routine begins.
For added convenience, longer-stay guests may also receive house food when arranged in advance, basic baths, nail trims, and assistance with most non-injectable medications. Please discuss your dog’s medication and care instructions with our team before booking so we can confirm that we can safely accommodate their needs.
What to Bring for Boarding
We want your dog to feel right at home. Here’s what to pack:
- Food: Please pack meals in labeled ziplock bags per serving to avoid tummy troubles. We do offer house food at $5/day if needed.
- Vaccination Records: Required vaccines: Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper. All dogs must also be current on flea/tick medication.
- Bedding: Bring your dog’s bed or blanket with familiar scents. A worn T-shirt with your scent can provide comfort during their stay.
- Toys: Pack their favorite toy to keep them feeling secure and entertained.
- Medications: Let our team know about any medications. We'll administer them at no extra cost—just include clear instructions.
- Collar: All dogs must arrive wearing a collar.
