Our Policies

Keeping Pets Safe, Happy, and Cared For

At Ruby’s Pet Resort, we believe that a safe, clean, and joyful environment starts with clear communication and mutual respect. Our policies are designed to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of every pet and peace of mind for every pet parent.

General Requirements

Vaccinations

All pets must be current on required vaccinations before using daycare, boarding, or bath services.

  • Dogs: Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper/Parvo

  • Cats: Rabies, Feline Leukemia, and FVRCP
Proof of vaccination must be submitted prior to check-in.

You may email documents to RubysPetResort@gmail.com  or bring a printed copy.

Flea & Tick Prevention

All pets must be on a current flea and tick prevention program prior to arrival. Because our pups enjoy time in our natural grass play yards, prevention is especially important for everyone’s comfort and safety.

Please note that flea collars are not accepted as an approved form of prevention.

If fleas or ticks are found during your pet’s stay, they will be treated promptly at the owner’s expense to protect all pets in our care.

Collars & Carriers

For everyone’s safety, all dogs must arrive on a secure leash and wearing a properly fitted collar or harness at check-in.

All cats must arrive in a secure carrier.

Please note that all collars and accessories are removed once pets are settled in for boarding to ensure comfort and safety while in our care.

Behavioral Requirements

For the safety of all guests, we reserve the right to refuse service to any pet that displays aggressive or unsafe behavior.

Pets must be able to interact safely with staff and other animals (if participating in group play).

Spay / Neuter Policy

To ensure a safe, balanced, and enjoyable group play experience at Ruby’s, all dogs participating in group activities must be spayed or neutered. This helps promote positive social interactions and a comfortable environment for every pup in our care.

What to Bring

For boarding stays, we recommend the following:

  • Food: Please bring your pet’s regular food to help keep their routine consistent and avoid digestive upset from sudden diet changes. Food may be provided in clearly labeled, pre-portioned bags or in a secure, airtight container. For safety and freshness, we do not accept open or unsealed bags of food.

  • Medications: Please ensure all medications are clearly labeled and accompanied by detailed written instructions, including dosage and timing. Our team carefully administers medications as directed at no additional charge, so your pet’s routine stays consistent while in our care.

  • Bedding & Toys: We highly encourage you to send familiar items from home—such as bedding, blankets, or a favorite toy—to help your pet feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.

Please be mindful to avoid items that could pose a choking hazard. While we’re happy to accommodate most belongings, very large plush beds may not be able to be laundered if soiled. Additionally, pets can sometimes chew or damage items in a new environment, so we cannot be responsible for any personal
belongings that are destroyed during their stay.

Clean, comfortable bedding is always available upon request.
